During the construction of the building, the architects discovered these Roman Berytus, or Roman Baths of Beirut, which are 2000 years old!

They decided to do their best to integrate them into the architecture of the building, located in front of Society restaurant in Gemmayze.

Back in the times, Roman citizens used to go to the baths at the end of the day to relax, talk, discuss and get pampered. Roman baths used to be a meeting place for all citizens.

The baths were composed of cold baths made of stone, hot baths made of marble, and in-between rooms with different temperatures. Slaves used to burn wood to keep the water warm in the hot baths.

Today, the remains of the baths are located under the building. You can visit them any day of the week from 9:00 am till 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm till 6:00 pm.
